Sunday Funday: Intention of the Week and My Journey into HIIT Workouts

Happy Sunday!  Today is already PERFECT.  Our little neighbor, Helena, JUST dropped off Caramel Mini Cinni Buns as I was having the EXACT thought of, “Hmm…what’s for breakfast today?”

This past week has been weird….like, what-am-I-ACTUALLY-doing-with-my-life-weird.  The weirdest thing is that I’m not thinking about things in the “Oh my God” frantic way but in sincere contemplative thoughts.  When you hear someone in a yoga practice or meditation sitting say, “Let go of what does not serve you” it can easily just sounds like words.  But, how to really and truly apply that to our lives…?  That’s the challenge.

I quit a job that was not and was not ever going to serve me after being there for only two weeks.  Some may view this as impulsive.  Some may view this as irresponsible.  But, I can honestly say this is one of the only times I “let go of what does not serve me” without regret.  It was clear as day.  And it’s because I followed my intuition which I often don’t listen to as much as I should.

And, even weirder still, I then had three different places call me for interviews….like, immediately.  I’ve said this before, lost touch with it, and am paying closer attention once again to the fact that there are signs if we stop and listen.

Purchasing this house was so stressful, but now that Mike and I are here, things are falling into place as they should.  Ever look into Numerology?  Our house number is 214.  Add those numbers together and you get the number 7.  The number seven in houses is often seen as a sanctuary for reflection, philosophical introspection, and spiritual growth.  No matter the source you’re checking to delve deeper into your home’s number meaning, ALL sources state that a seven house chooses YOU.  Honestly, Mike and I decided to start looking for a house to buy on a whim and this was one of the very first houses we saw driving down the street from his mother’s place.  We immediately viewed it and then started the purchase process.  Seven houses are often quiet and overlooking water (we overlook the lake), and if there IS no water source nearby, a seven house should have a pool, fountain, aquarium…something to bring the water element in.  Seven houses can often feel “haunted” by memories or feelings of those who lived in the home beforehand so cleansing the home is of utmost importance.  Mike and I smudged our home the very first night we moved in.  Seven houses feel like coming “home” or very much at peace with where you are at exactly right NOW.

I honestly believe this house chose us and that it is part of a much larger sequence of events that are meant to be in both of our lives.

I could keep going and going and going on all this but I won’t bore you…I digress.


After having such an interesting week, I pulled JOY for this upcoming week.  This is an interesting one because I am currently launching a character party business which will bring a lot of happiness to others and to myself.  I get to be creative, work with kids, sing, dance, and act.  This week I am also hoping to move into a better and more satisfying career path.  Joy also just reminds me of this time of year.  I LOVE fall and everything associated with it.  The weather is cooling and there is just so much to look forward to…

Over the past few weeks I have been working on getting back into healthier routines and habits.  Although my goal is to lose weight, right now regulating my hormones is key.  I have increased my exercise to include more cardio and weight lifting along with eating better.

I had heard a lot about HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) over social media forums and I decided to give it a go.  It seemed like a no-brainer:  shorter bursts of cardio mixed with weights for a shorter interval to start out.  I have been doing HIIT workouts three days a week and throwing in some yoga flow before or after.  I then have been lifting two days a week.  Hoping to continue this momentum and keep you updated.

Summer I always feel like my weight will even out but it usually does the opposite.  Summer time is always party party party time so it’s time to get my body right again.  Cutting out alcohol is the simplest and surest way to regulate the body’s basic functions.  I also have been making it a point to work out and meditate.  It just hit me a few weeks ago:  If I don’t make the time, it’s just never going to happen.  So, I’m making the time.

Over the past two months I’ve been getting into my gemstone collection and utilizing them in the best ways I know how.  I have been incorporating them into my meditation and intention settings.  This coming Friday I will have a post on a the basics of gemstone meditation and some of their other uses.
